Miranda Cominole is a recent graduate from Appalachian State University, where she graduated with a B.S. in Sociology and an minor in Gender and Women’s Studies. Her academic and professional experience centers on community-based research, public health, and nonprofit initiatives that promote meaningful social change.

Throughout her academic career, Miranda developed expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methods, project coordination, survey design, and statistical analysis. She collaborated with the Town of Boone Human Relations Commission on community research projects, working alongside local stakeholders to address complex social issues through evidence-based approaches.

Currently serving with the HopeStar Foundation and Nurture NC, Miranda contributes to initiatives focused on improving health outcomes and strengthening community partnerships. Her work reflects a commitment to research-informed advocacy, program support, and advancing equitable access to resources for underserved populations.

Miranda has supported nonprofit organizations through volunteer service, strengthening her skills in client engagement, administrative coordination, communication, and organizational management. With a strong foundation in sociology, social research, data analysis, and community engagement, Miranda is passionate about using research and collaboration to inform policy, improve programs, and create positive, lasting impact within communities.
