Ellie Smith joined The Duke Endowment in 2024 as a Program Analyst in the Health Care Division of the Endowment. In her current role as Program Officer, she focuses on grantmaking in strengthening the healthcare workforce and maternal and infant health across the Carolinas. She previously worked at Atrium Health, where she was a pediatric clinical research coordinator. During the early years of the COVID-19 pandemic, she worked as a graduate research assistant at the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security in Baltimore. She graduated from Johns Hopkins School of Public Health with a Master of Science in Public Health and earned a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from Santa Clara University.
