Leadership


Dr. Lisa Foglia is the Maternal Fetal Medicine Fellowship Director at Mountain Area Health Education Center in Asheville, North Carolina. She is the immediate past president of the North Carolina OB/Gyn Society (2025-2026) and is the National Secretary for the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, where she serves as a member of ACOG’s Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of the Board. She is a member of the ABOG MFM Subspecialty Division and a MFM Board Examiner.
Dr. Foglia retired from the US Army in 2022, after almost 25 years of active-duty service. She has previously served as the ACGME Designated Institutional Official at Womack Army Medical Center, and Residency Program Director at Madigan Army Medical Center. During her time in the military, she deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan. She is the immediate past chair of the ACOG Armed Forces District. Honors and awards include the ACOG Outstanding District Service Award, Armed Forces District Professor of the Year Award, the Military Health System Female Physician Leadership Award and the Legion of Merit (Army).
She enjoys spending time with her dog Sophie, reading, and is working toward yoga teacher certification.
