Elizabeth (Liz) Star is a community advocate and the founding trustee of the HopeStar Foundation. The foundation focuses on women’s access to healthcare, social justice, and early childhood health and development, with a particular emphasis on interventions critical to the first five years of life.

Ms. Star serves on the boards of the Early Childhood Funders Collaborative (ECFC), Invest Early NC Steering Committee, North Carolina Partnership for Children (NC Smart Start), and the Bloch Institute at Duke Law School.

She holds a BA in public communications from American University in Washington, DC. Before entering the healthcare field in 2007, Ms. Star held sales positions across several industries.
