Janelle White, MD, MHCM, FAAP, is a physician and healthcare leader committed to improving the quality of patient care and population-based health outcomes by leveraging an ecosystem model of care delivery. She has provided clinical oversight to the design and execution of a broad portfolio of community-based strategies and interventions aimed at reducing the life expectancy gap of vulnerable populations and has advocated for healthcare policies that improve care for underserved communities.

Dr. White currently serves as the chief medical officer of North Carolina Medicaid, where she leads innovative healthcare initiatives with a determination to tackle complex problems and improve the health and well-being of vulnerable populations.

She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Miami, her medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine, and her master’s degree in healthcare management from Harvard’s T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
